Gold Purchasing and Appraisal
Do you have gold you no longer use—a broken chain, mismatched earrings, an inherited piece that isn't your style? We evaluate your items in person, free of charge and with no obligation.
How an appraisal works
Three things determine the value of your gold:
- The purity — 10, 14, 18, or 24 karats. This is the proportion of pure gold in the alloy, indicated by the hallmark: 417, 585, 750, or 999.
- The weight — weighed in front of you, in grams.
- The daily gold price — it fluctuates daily on international markets.
We check the hallmark, weigh each piece, and explain the calculation. You leave with a clear amount and time to consider it.
What we look at
Yellow gold, white gold, rose gold. Whole or broken jewelry. Chains, rings, earrings, pendants, ID bracelets. A damaged piece retains its value: it's the metal that counts.
Some pieces are worth more than their weight in gold—an original invoice, a recognized manufacturer's hallmark, or particular craftsmanship can change the appraisal. Bring everything you have.

- Photo identification
- Invoices or certificates, if you have them
Why an in-person appraisal
No serious jeweler can price your gold from a photo. The hallmark must be read, the metal tested, and the piece weighed on a calibrated scale. Beware of any firm offer given remotely, before examination.
